MozParks and Beluluane Industrial Park Support Flood-Affected Families in Matola Rio

When heavy rains swept across parts of southern Mozambique in recent weeks, communities in Matola Rio once again found themselves facing the difficult reality of seasonal flooding. Homes were affected, essential belongings were lost, and many families were left in urgent need of support.

In response, MozParks collaborated with companies based at Beluluane Industrial Park to support the local relief efforts. As part of their ongoing engagement with surrounding communities, the park’s business community contributed to the response coordinated by municipal authorities, reinforcing existing partnerships during a period of increased need.

The support focused on practical, immediate needs. Working in coordination with the Municipality of Matola Rio, essential goods identified as priority items for affected families were delivered to help households begin to recover. The donation was formally handed over at the Municipality and received by its President, Abdul Gafur Issufo.

During the handover, President Issufo acknowledged the continued solidarity demonstrated by companies from Beluluane Industrial Park. He noted that seasonal flooding remains a recurring challenge in the region and highlighted that many families are still in urgent need of assistance. According to the Municipality, the donated items will be distributed through its established relief mechanisms to ensure they reach the households most affected.

MozParks also extended its appreciation to the Municipality of Matola Rio for its coordination and to Raxio and Fluid Power Automation for contributing to the effort. Through this collaboration, the park’s business community continues to show that its role extends beyond industry it is also about standing with communities when it matters most.

Rwandan Business Delegation Hosted by MozParks at Beluluane Industrial Park

A Rwandan business delegation recently visited Beluluane Industrial Park to explore the industrial opportunities available within the parks developed and operated by MozParks. The visit formed part of the delegation’s broader mission to better understand Mozambique’s industrial landscape and identify potential areas for investment.

During the visit, MozParks presented the Park’s infrastructure, available land, and operational model, highlighting how Beluluane Industrial Park supports businesses across different sectors. The delegation also had the opportunity to engage directly with the Park’s environment and understand its strategic advantages.

As part of the programme, the delegation visited Raxio. During the visit, the delegation followed the company’s operations and gained insight into how advanced digital infrastructure is being developed and managed within the Park.

As part of MozParks’ ongoing efforts to attract foreign investment and position Mozambique as a competitive industrial destination, visits such as this play a key role in showcasing the country’s industrial potential, strategic infrastructure, and the opportunities available within its industrial parks.
