Mozparks has a big focus on promoting agro-processing industry in Mozambique and presented its projects and business strategy in this field to the audience of the EU-Mozambique Economic Round Table (4ª Edição Mesa Redonda Económica UE – Moçambique). This event took place today, 12th May 2022, in Maputo.
Onório Manuel, MozParks General Director, gave a presentation to the audience on the role of industrial free zones in the development of the Agro-Processing industry and its impact on the national sustainable industrialisation.
He pointed out that MozParks Industrial and Agro-processing parks are strategically located in the proximity of the giant anchor projects like Mozal, an alimunium smelter plant in Maputo Province and Kenmare Resources, a mining company in Nampula. “We aim to integrate agricultural producers from the neighbouring communities in the value chains of the anchor projects. We also give possibilities to national and international entrepreneurs in creating catering companies that can feed the anchor companies’ workforce,” he added.
