Secretary of State Henriques Bongece made his first official visit to the Beluluane Industrial Park.

The Secretary of State Henriques Bongece, was accompanied by a delegation of provincial government officials on a visit to Beluluane Industrial Park, as they were introduced to the work led by MozParks and the role industrial parks play in supporting Mozambique’s economic growth. During the presentation by Onorio Manuel, General Director of MozParks, outlined how the parks operate and the impacts that they have in the surrounding communities.
The visit continued with a tour to Sunshine Nuts, where CEO Don Larson welcomed the delegation and shared the company’s journey in Mozambique, highlighting both its successes and challenges. Mr. Larson also guided the group through the facility, explaining the production process in detail.
The next visit was to Beleza, part of Godrej Group, the largest employer within the Beluluane Industrial Park. With the highest number of employees in the park, Beleza plays a key role in the 10,000 jobs created at the site. General Manager Bharani Ganesh and his team led the delegation through the production site, offering insight into the company’s operations and its contribution to local industrial development.
As the visit concluded, Bongece expressed his gratitude to the MozParks team for the ongoing efforts. He emphasized the importance of creating opportunities for young people and highlighted the power of collaboration in driving sustainable growth.
At MozParks, we believe that meaningful learning extends beyond the classroom—and this week, we had the chance to put that belief into action. We were thrilled to welcome 30 bright and curious students from the French School of Maputo for an educational visit to Beluluane Industrial Park.
This wasn’t your average school field trip. The visit gave students a unique, behind-the-scenes look at how industrial parks operate and the critical role they play in Mozambique’s economic development. From infrastructure and logistics to investment attraction and local job creation, the tour showcased how MozParks is shaping the country’s industrial landscape.

The students also got a firsthand introduction to the MozYouth Foundation, an initiative of MozParks that connects young people with internship opportunities across the country. So far, MozYouth has empowered more than 1,200 young Mozambicans by helping them gain real work experience and practical skills. It was a chance for the visiting students to see how education and employability go hand in hand, and how companies can be agents of positive change for youth.

Experiences like this help connect classroom learning with the real world, giving students a clearer view of how different industries work and where their own interests might lead them. By opening our doors to young learners, we hope to contribute in a small way to their understanding of the opportunities and challenges that shape Mozambique’s economic future.
