The signing ceremony between MozParks and Fumilar, a company specializing in malaria vector control and pest management services in Mozambique, took place at Mozal-Beluluane Industrial Park this week. This event marked the official signing of Fumilar’s contract for entry into the Kenmare-Tupuito Industrial Park in Nampula Province.
With this new step, Fumilar will now extend its services in Nampula, helping businesses while also boosting the local economy by creating jobs. At MozParks, welcoming new tenants is always about more than just business – it’s about expanding opportunities and ensuring that job creation remains a priority across all our industrial parks.
“Fumilar’s presence at Kenmare – Topuito Industrial Park represents an important step in strengthening industrial infrastructure while promoting public health initiatives in the region,” said Onorio Manuel, General Director of MozParks. “This collaboration supports MozParks’ commitment to expanding our parks, advancing employment opportunities, and strengthening economic growth in the region.”
Governor Eduardo Abdula, during his official visit to the park, highlighted how substantial and impactful partnerships like this are and how it is a boost to sustainable economic growth in Nampula. “The expansion of Kenmare – Topuito Industrial Park, with new investors such as Fumilar, showcases the potential of industrial parks in developing local economies and creating jobs,” he stated.

Fumilar´s establishment was also welcomed to the park by Gareth Clifton, Country Manager of Kenmare Resources for Mozambique, stating: “Industrial parks thrive when businesses work together to create a dynamic and interconnected ecosystem. Fumilar’s presence strengthens the park’s supply chain while contributing to the overall development of the Topuito Industrial Park. The collaboration between companies within the park will enhance operational efficiency and unlock new opportunities for growth in the region.”
Pedro Paulino, representing the Conecta Negócios project, funded by the World Bank, highlighted the significance of this collaboration: “Conecta Negócios aims to strengthen SMEs. Supporting companies like Fumilar to integrate into industrial parks strengthens local economies, enhances supply chain resilience, and creates sustainable employment opportunities for Mozambicans.”
This partnership is another key step in MozParks’ mission to develop sustainable industrial zones across Mozambique, bringing investment and job opportunities to every province. The expansion of Kenmare – Topuito Industrial Park supports inclusive economic growth, backed by initiatives like the World Bank’s investment in development and the Fundo Catalítico para Inovação e Demonstração (FCID). These efforts promote job creation, industrial growth, and innovation, making Fumilar’s presence in the park a vital part of Mozambique’s economic transformation. As the park expands, MozParks remains committed to driving a business-friendly environment for long-term prosperity.

Governor of Nampula, Eduardo Abdula, visited the Mozal-Beluluane Industrial Park for the first time since taking office in January. This was a significant visit, as the Kenmare-Topuito Industrial Park has created 2,500 jobs and supported the income of over 25,000 Mozambicans, contributing to local economic growth and community development through the ongoing operations led by MozParks.
To emphasize the impact of the Mozal-Beluluane Industrial Park, Onorio Manuel highlighted that the park has already generated 10,000 jobs and serves as a source of income for over 100,000 people and with the Mozambican government’s mandate to develop 20 industrial parks across different provinces, the potential for large-scale job creation is immense. This initiative represents a transformative opportunity for economic growth and community development across the country.
During the visit, Governor Abdula interacted with the leaders and employees of some companies in the park, including Duys Moçambique and Beleza Moçambique. He expressed great appreciation for youth employment and local workforce initiatives. In addition to touring the companies, the Governor attended a presentation explaining MozParks’ supplier-park model which helped him understand better how the park operates.
“MozParks is dedicated to expanding its network of sustainable economic zones, ensuring more Mozambicans have access to stable jobs and economic opportunities,” said Onorio Manuel. “The success of Mozal – Beluluane Industrial Park demonstrates how industrialization can transform communities, and we are eager to expand this model to other provinces, ensuring that every new park serves as a catalyst for economic growth and job creation.”
