A transition from learning to earning is a challenge.
The Mimi Niko Kazi (MNK), a youth employability programme administered by MozParks, helps to smooth this transition, and find a path to a fast-growing career University graduates and young qualified talents are matched with companies that can offer hands-on internships.
Another 102 young professionals, 55 of which are women, celebrated the end of their 6-month professional trainings and the start of their careers yesterday.
Oswaldo Peterburgo, the Secretary of State for Youth and Employment congratulated the MNK graduates and thanked MozParks for this project.
Alexandra Oppermann , the coordinator of the E4D, Education For Development –Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH programme in Mozambique, a partner of the MNK, thanked the companies that offered training opportunities to young people recognising this programme as an opportunity to identify and recruit a talent.
Laila Sheikh, the Head of the Agency for Development and Cooperation of the Swiss Embassy in Mozambique (SDC) stressed the importance of the MNK in improving living conditions for Mozambicans. SDC is a partner of Mozparks in this project.
Niamh Casey, the Second Secretary at the Embassy of Ireland in Mozambique noted that the Mozparks model seems successful, and the embassy is willing to support the third faze of the youth employability project, #MozYouth, which was announced at the ceremony.
Onorio Manuel, the MozParks General Manager, thanked TotalEnergies, the Embassy of Ireland in Mozambqiue, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH for their continuous cooperation as partners in the MozParks youth employability project.
Onorio Manuel, the MozParks General Manager, outlined the unique opportunities for overcoming a skilled workforce shortage in remote areas. He invited enterprises to partner with MozParks in the youth employability programme in the Nampula, Cabo Delgado and Montepuez provinces where MozParks is building a network of #AgroIndustrialParks.
