The Managing Director of MozParks, Onorio Manuel, attended the prestigious 2024 Korea–Africa Business Summit in Korea this week. As part of the Mozambican business mission organized by the Chamber of Commerce of Mozambique and led by the President of Mozambique Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, MozParks was represented on an international stage aimed at fostering economic cooperation and development between Korea and Africa.
The 2024 Summit was a grand-scale economic event that brought together major government officials, business leaders, and economic experts. The agenda covered crucial topics such as industrial development, trade expansion, food and mineral security, and climate change response, all of which are mutual interests to Korea and Africa.
MozParks’ participation in the summit underscored the company’s commitment to sustainable industrial development and international investment. The event was highlighted by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Mozambique Chamber of Commerce, witnessed by MozParks alongside H.E. Silvino Moreno, Minister of Trade & Industry and Alvaro Massingue, President of Mozambique Chamber of Commerce. Following the signing of the MoU, South Korea has pledged to disburse one billion dollars to finance development projects in Mozambique.
Onorio Manuel’s participation in the Korea–Africa Business Summit follows his recent engagements at the U.S.-Africa Business Summit in Dallas, Texas, and the Africa CEO Forum in Kigali, Rwanda, both held in May. MozParks remains dedicated to positioning Mozambique as a premier destination for investment and business opportunities, continuing its mission to drive sustainable development and international cooperation.
