On February 12th, MozParks had the honor of hosting the Governor of Inhambane,Francisco Manuel Pagula, at the Mozal-Beluluane Industrial Park. The visit, hosted by General Director Onorio Manuel, provided an opportunity to highlight the vital role that industrial parks play in driving economic development in the country.
With over 60 companies currently operating within the park, creating 10,000 jobs and positively impacting the lives of more than 100,000 people, the Governor was particularly interested in the potential to replicate this model in Inhambane as one of his primary focus at the moment is job creation in the province, making this visit even more important.
During the visit, the Governor was given a comprehensive tour of the different companies present in the park, including ETG Steel Solution, Beleza Moçambique, and Duys Moçambique. Other than that the visit also consisted of a presentation with a detailed overview of both the park’s structure and the concept behind the initiative for Inhambane.
“MozParks is committed to promoting industrial growth that directly benefits Mozambicans through job creation and economic inclusion,” said Onorio Manuel. “Mozal-Beluluane Industrial Park has set a benchmark for sustainable industrial development, and we look forward to extending this model to other provinces, ensuring that each new park contributes to job creation and regional economic growth.”
This initiative aligns seamlessly with MozParks´ target and the government’s mandate to the company of establishing industrial parks in every province, promoting economic growth opportunities nationwide.
The Governor expressed genuine interest in the initiative and is eager to take the next steps toward bringing similar opportunities to his province, making this collaboration an exciting prospect for the future.
