MozParks, as a member of the African Economic Zones Organization (AEZO), recently participated in the African SEZs Annual Meeting 2024 in Kenya. Represented by our General Director, Onório Manuel, the event brought together leaders and stakeholders from across the continent. They exchanged ideas and explored strategies for supporting sustainable industrial development.
As part of this three-day event, MozParks participated in the AEZO General Assembly. This dedicated session allowed members to reflect on milestones, share insights, and outline a collective path forward. Discussions throughout the event focused on critical topics such as attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) from Europe. They also addressed the role of SEZs in supporting MSMEs and utilize digital innovation to empower African SEZs.
The importance of collaboration and dialogue between SEZs, private enterprises, and public stakeholders was a recurring theme. It highlighted the transformative potential of partnerships in driving industrial growth and fostering local economic development.
MozParks remains committed to contributing to these efforts through initiatives that create jobs and opportunities in Mozambique, while continuing to engage in conversations that shape the future of sustainable economic zones in Africa.
