An exhibition featuring more than 250 images captured in all the eight districts of Maputo Province is on display at the 54th Edition of FACIM in Marracuene, Maputo province until Sunday 2 September 2018.
A joint project by Beluluane Industrial Park and the Government of Maputo province, the photographs were commissioned to capture the essence of Maputo province, celebrating its landmarks, economic activity, people and potential.
With photography by Mbuto Machili (‘Amor Amor Fotografia’), the selection of images captured in Boane, Marracuene, Manhiça, Moamba, Magude, Matutuine, Namaacha and Matola, cover well-known landmarks and places of interest. Photo sessions took a week of intensive work, travelling across the province, following a thorough research and mapping by the curatorial team.
The beauty of the Umbeluzi and Matola River, the Macaneta and Calanga beaches, Lagoa Phati, agricultural farms such as Hora Boa in Moamba,the Magude and Matutuine Reserves, the Namaacha Waterfalls are pictured.
The collection also includes the Ressano Garcia electrical substation, the Port of Matola, and Beluluane Industrial Park.
Beluluane Industrial Park Managing Director, Adrian Frey, said that the project is a first for Maputo province and accounts for a very significant documentation of its districts. He said that the collection is a showcase of the economic potential held by these districts – celebrating the development of its land and its possibilities.
Maputo’s provincial director for Industry and Commerce, Ernesto Mafumo, also speaks about the exhibition and its message. “This project is a testament of the innovation and development in our province, also showing its potential through investment and business development. Thus, the FACIM trade show offers an excellent platform and we wish to invite the public to come and be inspired,” he said.
