On our journey to develop industrial parks in each province of Mozambique, we are happy to announce that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Provincial Government of Nampula and MozParks, formalizing the Nampula Parks initiative, serving as a catalyst for economic development in the province.
One of the key focuses of MozParks is job creation for local communities, as demonstrated by the Kenmare-Topuito Industrial Park in Nampula, which has generated 2,500 jobs and provided income to 25,000 Mozambicans. MozParks will further expand its impact through the MozYouth Foundation, with a focus on youth employment, training, and entrepreneurship support.
The Governor of Nampula, Eduardo Mariamo Abdula, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating:”With this initiative, each industrial park created will be the foundation for business development and will enable the creation of ten times more jobs than the anchor company itself. By doing so, we will multiply the economic impact and ensure that more young people in our province have access to new opportunities in the job market. In this spirit, we are pleased to announce the launch of 100 paid internships for recent graduates in Nampula, providing them with six months of valuable work experience that will help build the next generation of skilled professionals driving our province’s development.“
The 100 internships will be under the Nampula Parks initiative, showcasing a strong commitment to local capacity building and workforce development while also providing many opportunities to the local community .
Onorio Manuel, General Director of MozParks, stated: “Nampula has always been a province full of untapped potential. Our goal is to ensure that industries in Nampula thrive and that local businesses and workers fully benefit from these opportunities.”
