Celebrating the 4th anniversary of the Município de Matola Rio is to recognise a journey marked by growth, resilience, and the gradual shaping of a municipality with its own identity and direction.
Over these four years, stronger connections have been built between institutions and communities, new opportunities have begun to take shape, and important foundations have been laid for a more structured and inclusive path of local development.
For MozParks, being part of this milestone was particularly meaningful, since Matola Rio Municipality hosts Beluluane Industrial Park, the largest and oldest industrial park in Mozambique. The park is accelerating its growth, with 75+ companies currently hosted. It was a heartfelt moment to join the community in marking this important stage of its journey.
The celebration brought together local leadership and partners to reflect on the progress achieved so far, while also looking ahead to the work that still lies ahead. Throughout the event, one message stood out clearly: progress in Matola Rio is a shared effort, built step by step through collaboration.
It was in this spirit that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Município de Matola Rio and MozParks. The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration focused on supporting local development, improving infrastructure, and delivering practical solutions that respond to community needs.
“We are extremely happy to be part of this celebration and this important moment for Matola Rio. Through this collaboration, our primary goal is to ensure that the community truly benefits from what we are building together. The success of Matola Rio Municipality depends on its ability to guarantee stability, predictability and facilitation to investors and other stakeholders interested in establishing themselves in the municipality,” said Onorio Manuel, General Director of MozParks.
Local leadership also highlighted the importance of continued cooperation, emphasising that sustainable development only becomes meaningful when it is reflected in people’s daily lives.
The celebration concluded with a shared commitment among all partners to move from dialogue to action, keeping the focus on tangible improvements that make a real difference for the people of Matola Rio.
